When you’re little, you don’t stop and wonder what you would like to be when you grow up, at least not seriously. One day you play doctor, the next perhaps firefighter. After that, you become a soccer player, and the next minute you’re a musketeer.
However, Maria del Rosario, still with her baby teeth, knew that her dream wasn’t to cure the sick or rescue injured people, much less to run after a ball or fight with swords. Marre, as she’s fondly nicknamed, decidedly knew that when she grew up she wanted to be one thing only: a “cantartista” (“singer-artist”).
